  6. Blood is a complex living tissue . It is made up of
  7. three kinds of cells that are manufactured in the
  8. blood cell "factory"‚Äîthe marrow cavity of
  9. our bones. All these cells are suspended in a
  10. liquid called plasma, and each cell plays a
  11. critical role in keeping us alive.
  12. ‚Ä¢ Red blood cells carry oxygen to our
  13.   tissues.
  14. ‚Ä¢ White blood cells‚Äîleukocytes‚Äîhelp us
  15.   fight off infections.
  16. ‚Ä¢ Platelets are necessary to form the blood
  17.   clots that stop bleeding.
